About

A club built around adventure, not a scorecard.

Rambler exists to get everyday players onto new courses with new people, and to give back to the sport that makes it possible.

Rambler started with a plain observation: it is strangely hard to meet people as an adult, and strangely easy to spend a whole weekend alone with a screen.

Disc golf answers both at once, and almost nobody talks about it that way. Most of the organizing in this sport happens at the top with tournaments, ratings, sponsorships, payouts. That is great for the players who want it. It also skips over most of the people actually out on the course: the ones playing after work, learning on borrowed discs, or looking for a reason to discover a new park.

Rambler is for them. We are a virtual club with a very physical purpose: show up at a course, meet a card of people you did not know, play a relaxed round, and go home having made new disc golf friends.

Rambler Disc Golf

The cheapest cure for loneliness we know is a walk in the park with a disc in your hand.

The U.S. Surgeon General has called loneliness an epidemic, and it is hard to argue while everyone scrolls past each other. Disc golf is an unusually good antidote.

It is cheap to start. It is outdoors. It moves slowly enough to hold a real conversation and competes just enough to matter. A round takes about an hour, and you finish it knowing three or four people you didn’t know when you teed off.

Rambler exists to make that happen on purpose, and often.

Casual is the point

The moment a round needs a bracket, it stops being an easy place to meet somebody.

Local knowledge wins

Every event is co-hosted with the club that plays that course every week. We are guests, and we behave like it.

Nobody needs a group

Arriving alone is completely normal here. Cards are assigned so showing up by yourself is the easiest way to meet everyone.

The sport grows outward

Proceeds are reinvested into expanding disc golf in communities across the country.

Events

Casual rounds, real courses, actual humans.

A Rambler event is a meet-up, not a tournament. We pick a course, team up with the local club that knows it best, and put a card of people together for a relaxed round.

We pick a course

Sometimes one worth driving five hours for or jumping on a plane. Other times, it's the one you play every Tuesday.

We team up with the local club

They know the local routes, the parking and the good taco place. They help run the day; we help promote it to players around the country.

Members RSVP first

Spots are announced to members before anyone else. Bring a friend or come by yourself.

Cards assigned, you play, you hang

All skill levels, no pressure. Little prizes when we have them.

What it is
  • A relaxed round on a course worth playing.
  • All skill levels are welcome.
  • Co-hosted with the local club.
  • An easy place to arrive alone and leave with new friends.
What it isn’t
  • A tournament. No brackets, no payouts.
  • A rated event. Nothing you shoot follows you around.
  • A sales pitch.
  • Restricted to strong players. Genuinely, come anyway.

For local clubs

Host an event with us.

We bring players to your course and lean on your expertise. You know the layout and the community, we handle promotion to a national roster of members looking for exactly this. A jointly managed event event at your course with a bigger turnout.

Do I need to be any good?

No. This is the most common question and the answer never changes. Cards are made up of all skill levels on purpose and nobody is keeping a rating. If your drives sometimes go sideways into a tree, you will be in good company.

Does it cost anything to play?

Where a course charges a fee, that is on you the same as any other round. Whether Rambler events themselves carry a participation fee is still being worked out — if that changes it will be stated plainly on the event, before you commit to anything. All proceeds are used to grow the sport we all love.

Do I have to be a member to come?

Members get first access to every event. Each one will say clearly whether remaining spots open up more broadly, so you always know where you stand.

I know a course you should play. Who do I tell?

Us, immediately. Course suggestions from people who actually play them are the best input we get.

Membership

One membership. Rounds all over the country. Big discounts.

Membership is what makes the events happen, and it unlocks a store that is not open to the public.

First call on every event

Every item discounted well below typical retail, and the store is never open to the public.

The members-only shop

Every item discounted below typical retail, and the store is never open to the public.

A say in where we go

Members help pick the courses we visit next and the communities the give-back supports. It is your club; the roster should look like it.

Where your fee goes

Two things pay for Rambler: club membership and items sold at the shop. Those cover the cost of running events, and what is left is reinvested into expanding disc golf in communities across the country.

  • Running the events. Coordination, course fees where they apply, and support for the local club co-hosting the day.
  • Growing access. Contributing to course development, baskets and gear for communities without them.
  • Getting people started. Loaner discs at events, so nobody has to buy anything to try the sport once.
